An abdominoplasty is typically not covered by Medicare or individual/group health insurance plans. It is generally considered cosmetic and thus, the consumer has to pay for the procedure.

However, if it is considered "medically necessary," and perhaps a life-threatening situation is involved, the results could be different.

Discussing your specific situation with an experienced broker or contacting a reputable website will provide further help.

That is a great question!! Medicare will ONLY cover abdominoplasty if it is medically necessary . Generally speaking it is considered cosmetic and Medicare will not cover the procedure. As pre-certification is crucial, consult with your physician ordering this procedure to discuss/determine your specific situation as it relates to Medicare coverage .
