    Most of the U.S.
    Medicare Part B will cover orthotic shoes only if they are part of a medically approved leg brace.  Medicare will also cover soft insole inserts for some patients with diabetes, but not orthotics for those with diabetes. Purchasing orthotic shoes without a leg brace and purchasing orthotic shoe inserts are not covered by Medicare.
