    Geri chairs are high backed chairs with adjustable seating and smaller wheels than a traditional wheelchair. Some people cannot tolerate standard wheelchairs because they need more back support in order to sit up. In those cases, Medicare will often pay for a geri chair under the durable medical equipment benefit.
