That is a great question, and one with a great answer! Yes, Medicare Part A pays for end of life treatment. You will need a Doctor's certification that your loved one is expected to pass within 6 months, and that no further restorative procedures are to be implemented. It doesn't matter if the hospice care is given in your home, or a facility, as long as it is Medicare approved. You may also need a living will, or something similar to qualify. It will also pay for up to 5 days of respite care, if you need to take a break. Thanks for asking!
