Unless it is specifically excluded in your policy, any renters policy, not just Geico, will cover damage caused by hurricane or any other peril.Check with your agent to be sure of your particular policy but I am not aware of any company that excludes hurricanes or damage caused by hurricanes.

many carriers exclude this type of coverage if you are in the high risk areas for that I would recommend calling them and seeing if it is excluded.
this is why having a local agent rather then an online policy can be an issue when it comes to asking questions. When you have a loss you want your answers right away and it is nice to have a local person who knows your insurance needs and makes sure that you are covered properly. many time clients buy online and know nothing about insurance and purchase a policy then later discovered that they were not covered on something they thought was covered.

Also you can always contact your state insurance commissioners office they can assist you also.
