It may. Some renters insurance like homeowners insurance do provide some limited coverage for property that you rent. Remember ever policy is different. Please read your policy completely to understand the coverage offered and any exclusions that there may be or contact your local agent to have them go over teh policy with you.

Under the Liability portion of your policy, if you damaged the rental property in which you are living, and are held legally liable for that damage, then you would have coverage. This is one of the primary reasons that building owners and landlords may require that you show proof that you have a Renters Policy as a condition of your lease.
