    That is a little hard to say because rates can differ by location and from state to state.  Here in CT, I find the average to be between $200.00 and $300.00 annually.  There are three primary elements of coverage that drive the premium.  First, the amount of personal property coverage you choose, it should reflect the value of your personal belongings.  The second is the deductible you choose - the higher the deductible, the lower the premium.  Finally, the amount of liability coverage you choose.  We generally recommend at least $300,000.

    Great Question. The average renters insurance is around $20,000 of personal property. Most people who rent a house, apartment or condo have about that much in personal property. Which can include furnature, cloth, televisons, computer and other personal items that a person needs every day. Some people have more than others in term of stuff.
