To protect the renter and their immediate family from financial hardship in the event of an accident or other loss that is covered by the policy. If the premise experiences a fire or other covered loss the renter would have coverage that provides moneys to secure a new premise to reside and replace their lost personal property. Typically there is also liability protection provided in the event that someone is hurt within the rented premise. There are other coverages also offered in a renters policy. Please read your policy completely to understand the coverage provided and any exclusions that may be contained within or contact your local agent to have them go over the policy with you.
