You need a tenant’s policy if your landlord requires it.  You need one if you would suffer a financial loss if all your property went up in smoke.  You need one if you cannot pay the expense of a lawsuit if someone slips and falls in your rental unit.  You need one if you cannot afford temporary housing while your rental unit is being repaired following a covered loss.
