In the direct sense no, it could not be transferred. In reality what would happen is that the new vehicle would be added to your policy and rated accordingly and the old vehicle would be removed. Your policy number in most cases will remain the same, but your rate may change.

Assuming that you mean due to the replacement of your existing car with another, then yes, coverage would be handled as a transfer replacement on your policy. Otherwise, you would have to buy a new policy every time you bought another vehicle or swapped one for another. It is best to talk with your Insurance Professional about the transaction in order to make sure the transfer of coverage from one car to the other is handled properly and without any un necessary delay. If you are replacing an older car that may not have Collision coverage to a newer car where it is either advisable or required (by the terms of your loan or lease agreement) then be sure to talk to your advisor about making sure your revised policy will include all of the required coverage. That is also a great time to talk about any and all available discounts.
