    Automobile insurance coverage is an at will policy. You may cancel the policy at any point that you wish and the insurance carrier will typically return the unused portion of the policy premium to you. Your current carrier will more than likely require you to sign one of their cancellation forms or have you send a signed letter to them to verify your desire to cancel the policy.
