   You should not encounter any fees to switch your auto insurance in most if not all States. You may find that some States have different ways of calculating the premium that should be returned to you for the unused period of the policy, after you switch carriers. This is based on the actual date that he policy is voluntarily cancelled by you. Any insurance agent handling private passenger auto lines should be able to explain this to you in one phone call.

   There is no fee that I am aware of to switch from one insurance company to another. The only reason that I am aware of that you want to switch insurance companies is lower cost. If there is a fee involved then you probably will not switch insurance companies. There is no fee to my knowledge to switch
