Great Question! Assuming that you want to cancel it because you have found a cheaper policy, as soon as you've started coverage on the new policy, call your agent for the old one, and tell them that you want to cancel. There may be a form that you need to fill out for them, or they may need something in writing, depending upon the company. It should not be a problem for you to drop that policy. Thank you for asking!

Car insurance can be cancelled in a variety of ways. Perhaps the easiest way is to contact your broker, who will explain what information is needed and how to expedite the termination.

You can also contact your insurer directly (customer service) and request a cancellation. They will process the request by phone or inform you the quickest way to cancel.
