    Yes, there is generally nothing that prevents you from being eligible for benefits from both.  The only exception would be a social insurance substitute or SIS rider on an individual disability insurance rider.

    If you have an insurance policy with a SIS rider, than the benefit paid under the SIS rider is offset by any benefits received from Social Security Disability.
