    Old-Age Survivors and Disability Insurance (OASDI) is the same thing as Social Security. By paying Social Security taxes, you become eligible for Social Security income and Medicare, when you become eligible based on age. You also would be able to receive Social Security Disability Income if you were to become disabled.
