While it is possible to have two health insurance plans at the same time, it rarely pays to do so. The reason for this is all insurance policies contain a clause known as co-ordination of benefits, which allows multiple insurers to work together to determine who is responsible for paying your claim. Insurance is intended to help protect one from possible loss, to to profit by having two different companies pay the same bill.
