    If you're covered under a group health insurance plan, you can have your child on your health insurance plan until they turn age 26.

    Many times at age 23, it may be cheaper for both parties for the child to be on their own plan and they may be able to qualify for a subsidy (since 2014) to reduce the cost of their health insurance.
