Personal training is not considered a covered service under traditional health insurance plans.  There is good news however, many policies and the associations or networks attached to them will offer discounts to many gyms and exercise facilities.  Taking advantage of one is a great way to save money and stay fit at the same time.

And as we all know, living a healthy lifestyle is the best way to keep your healthcare costs to a minimum.

Most health plans would not pay for a personal trainer because it would not be considered a medically necessary item by your doctor. However, there are some out there that may provide some coverage for it - the drawback is the cost to get that coverage may outweigh the benefit given the prices for personal trainer sessions.

Consult with your health insurance agent to find out if your plan covers this. If you have any other questions or would like help with your own health coverage, send me a private message by clicking on the "contact me" button.
