The cost for health insurance coverage in Connecticut is based on numerous factors. If you are buying as an individual or family, then factors such as age, one's BMI, (made up of the combined factors of height and weight), medical history (including prescribed medications) and geographical location all come into play. Insurance carriers licensed to sell in Connecticut do not all use the same underwriting guidelines. Independent brokers are well versed in these guidelines. The best way to get an exact price is to apply for coverage and go through the underwriting process.  Keep in mind, until the provisions of "Obamacare" become effective in 2014, insurance companies can refuse to offer coverage to applicants that do not meet their guidelines.
