    Any and all insurance carriers will only cover Bariatric Surgery (or any other procedure for that matter) if it is deemed medically necessary and isn't excluded within the policy itself.  Typically though, this type of procedure is more often than not considered elective and therefore ..not covered.  

    It is important to understand what your policy covers prior to having any procedures scheduled.  Rule of thumb; If it's elective, it's not covered!
