Acts of God is a very vague term and really doesn't come into play on a legal basis.  Home insurance has two different main coverages.  There is All risk and Named peril.  All risk would cover anything that happens to your home unless specifically excluded.  This is the most comprehensive form of home insurance.  Named peril will cover those perils specifically named in your policy, Fire, Lightening, Wind, Hail etc.  Check with your agent to see what policy form you have.
