It May cover a leak from your shower depending on what happened, and how, but also depending on what type of policy you purchased.  If you purchased a very basic policy then you will probably not have coverage for water leaks, the more deluxe policy forms usually do cover for water leaks.  Send me an email if you have questions at dbeukel1@amfam.com

A homeowner’s policy covers damage that are caused by perils.  The perils are listed in the contract.  If the shower is leaking because of damage caused by one of the perils, it should be covered.  If the shower is leaking because of fair wear and tear, that is generally excluded.  The homeowner’s policy does not cover routine maintenance items.
