Is Homeowners Insurance Deductible On Federal Taxes?

    This is really a question for an accountant.  Insurance on a residence is not deductible.  If the house is used as a rental, the insurance would be deductible.  If you depreciate your house for business purposes, a portion of the premium might be deductible.  This is really a question for a tax advisor.
