Most life insurance companies will not reinstate a life insurance policy after surrender. Once a cash value is returned to you for permanent coverage, the life insurance company will declare themselves free of liability. However, if it is a very short period of time since the surrender, you could contact the life insurance company to see if they will do so, especially with Term insurance.
