You can buy life insurance for your spouse if your spouse consents to you doing so, as indicated by signing the application. If buying a No Exam policy, your spouse may need to do a phone interview. If purchasing a medically underwritten policy, your spouse will need to do an exam in your home or other place of choice.

You can buy a life insurance policy on your spouse, if you can justify the amount of coverage and demonstrate the economic loss you would suffer at the demise of your spouse. Of course, the biggest item is that you’ll need your spouse’s signature as the insured in the application.
