Connecticut is not a community property state, so life insurance would not be considered community property there.  There may be additional state rules regarding assets owned by married couples, but community property is not one of them.

Assets like life insurance, specifically cash value life insurance can often be subject to negotiation regarding splitting values between parties during divorce.
