If you have been shopping for life insurance in Iowa and found the prices to be steeper than you expected, it may be because of the following: 1) you are over age 40, 2) you are looking for permanent or a long term policy, 3) you have a health condition, or 4) you use tobacco.

The rates that people hear advertised are usually for a younger person with excellent health and with the rate locked in for only 10 years. In 10 years, that person may be in the same situation you are.

So you might just want to lock your premium in for as long as you can, because it will probably never be lower than it is today. That is true not just in Iowa, but all over the United States. If the need arises, it will have seemed like a bargain.

Life insurance prices are dependent on the type of insurance product, the age, and health of the insured on the contract.

Life insurance contracts sold in the state of Iowa are not more expensive than life insurance contracts sold in any state.  If you are finding that life insurance premiums seem too high, you may be looking at the wrong thing.  You should seek out another source for insurance quotes and compare.
