AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) sponsors Medigap (Medicare supplement plans) underwritten by United Healthcare.

AARP UHC plans are available in every state. They are exactly identical in every way to plans from other carriers such as Blue Cross, Humana, Mutual of Omaha and others.

Identical in every way except price.

    Shop and compare.

Hello! One difference in the Aarp Gap is that in most states it does include a health club membership at no additional charge.  A medigap in general also known as Medicare supplements are designed to help cover medicare approved expenses that Medicare does not cover. Have a great day!

AARP is a politically active lobbying organization and marketing entity, not an insurance carrier. They currently endorse Medigap (Medicare supplement) plan underwritten and administered by United Healthcare. Medigap plans are designed to cover the "gaps" in Medicare created by deductibles and coinsurance. All Medigap plans are standardized and vary (within the same letter) only by price.

AARP Medicare Supplement Plans are insured by United Healthcare. United Healthcare pays a royalty fee to AARP to have them sponsor their Medicare Supplement plans and that is why you must be a member of AARP in order to apply for one of their Supplements. AARP sponsors the plan they are not providing the insurance coverage or paying the claims. After the Medicare Supplement has been issued and in benefit you do do have to renew your AARP membership if you choose not to in order to keep your Supplement.
