The only way I know of that marriage would come into play would be to help a spouse receive Medicare benefits even though that spouse may not have the prerequisite employment time required. Your eligibility for Medicare has nothing to do with you get married or staying single. You qualified for Medicare because you worked long enough and paid Social Security taxes so once you turned 65 you became eligible for Medicare.Answered on May 3, 2016flag this answer
