Renters insurance premiums will vary depending on many factors. Some of the factors are geographic area, the age of the structure, the amount of coverage, claims history for the individual and location, and credit history just to name a few. I have seen coverage be as low as $80/yr on 15000 of coverage. Contact your local agent for rates and coverage available within your area.

Your rental unit is unique and the cost for coverage will vary depending upon the value of the contents and the liability limit that you select.  The important thing is that the renter’s policy will protect you should you be sued.  It will also protect you if your personal property is damaged by one of the many insured perils.  The claim could easily exceed multiples of the premiums.
