To submit a claim for bodily injury, property damage or damage to personal property on your renter’s policy, contact either your agent or the direct number provided by your insurance company.  Before you file the claim you should understand that the claim might trigger an increase in future premiums.  If the damage is near the deductible you might pay less by not filing the claim.  Discuss this with your agent if you have the time.  If you are sued, notify the company immediately.
