    No. A individual can only add their spouse and dependents to their health insurance plan. In states that acknowledge domestic partnerships and same sex marriages health insurers operating in such a state will honor those legally binding status' of residents of that state. But in generally it is only one's spouse, children, and in certain circumstances other individuals who are reported as dependent of the individual because they are severely disabled and unable to function in on a level where they would be able to take care of themselves.
